SAIGE ON FOUNTAIN

ROXBURY, BOSTON

Saige on Fountain  is an affordable homeownership development in the heart of Roxbury that offers locally-rooted first-time homebuyers in a city where homeownership is increasingly out of reach for most residents.  Saige on Fountain offers 40 quality affordable ownership units ranging from studios to three-bedroom homes. Designed with the intention of creating intimate, luxurious spaces and opportunities to connect. Condos feature sleek modern finishes and high quality appliances.

DVM’s role: DVM served as Development Consultant as well as Affirmative Fair Housing Marketing Agent for this project, not only managing the construction of thoughtfully designed and well-constructed units, but actively preparing and recruiting first-time homebuyers from Dorchester, Roxbury, and Mattapan to take part in the lottery.

Financing: Public financing includes the Mayor’s Office of Housing (MOH), the MassHousing's CommonWealth Builder program; Neighborhood Housing Trust; Community Preservation Committee (CPA). Construction financing was provided by Cambridge Trust and predevelopment funds were secured from The Life Initiative.

Outcomes: DVM’s leadership has generated positive financial outcomes: for the project: the building has achieved Certificate of Occupancy, was built at a cost below the original, and  has been publicly lauded by critical affordable housing funders including MassHousing .
